The church was alive with expectancy as we awaited the concert to begin, and no-one left disappointed. The chosen programme included several favourite Welsh songs and the choir’s excellent singing filled the church with music.
The pianist, Helen Davies, was a very accomplished accompanist, and Ian White the conductor truly urged the best from each choir member. David Price, the guitarist and Chris Morris the young soloist both gave very moving renditions. Bob Davies, a member of the choir, interspersed the programme with jokes that brought many to tears of laughter.
So many adjectives were used to describe the evening. It was unanimously agreed that it had all been “a great success”. Many asked when the choir would be making a return visit. As yet this is unknown but I do know that they would all be very welcome should they holiday in Bournemouth again.
It was a truly uplifting and enjoyable evening.
Sincere thanks to Jeremy Old and Bill Rice for dealing with the publicity so well, and to June Pollock and Maggie Sheath for providing the choir with refreshments.
