“It is a friendly Christian community of people who show love and understanding of each others needs.”
“For the first time in my life I have a real sense of belonging.”
You know how babies and young children need constant attention. Well, we recognise that our normal Sunday service can be a trying time for both parents and youngsters. So, we cater for our young families on a more informal basis with our new style Early Bird Children's Service. (Click here to find us on the map)
We meet for an hour on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 10.00 am. We have been going for a year or two now with a few changes recently and are delighted that new families are joining us every month. This year the Rev. Heather-Ann Adlem has taken on the lead role helped by a team as well as her puppet "Scrap".
Our aim is to creat a place for families to come together to a service that they can enjoy together. With a new team of enthusiastic people we are wanting to welcome all ages. Therefore on our 2nd and 4th Sundays during the Early Birds service we have a space for older children to have their own time with an adult as we keep our Bible stories aimed at the little ones.Although parents also enjoy the simple style and are willing to join in and take part.
Craft activities are enjoyed by all together when there is always a lot of fun and laughter as well as some serious creativity by adults and children alike.
We like our Early Bird meetings to be lots of fun, very interesting, enjoyable and have a feeling of “That was good!” But apart from having a good time, we all learn from the simple stories in the Bible such as Noah, Daniel and the lions' den, Moses, Jonah and the whale and of course the stories of Jesus and his disciples. These and many more stories teach our children things that most schools just don't! The Bible teaches us all about:
And with these values our children will find
guidance, inner strength and confidence.
