What's happening at our Church

The Baptism CeremonyIt seems to go hand in hand that, partly because we marry a lot of people, we baptise a lot of babies.

We explain to all who ask that there are three options to think about:-

1. We all should give thanksgiving for the creation of a new life. We must remember that not everyone can have children. Children are a precious gift from God. Not all can make the promises involved in Baptism. All people of all faiths or none can unite in wanting to say 'Thank you for the birth of the child'.

2. Baptism of infants where one or both the parents can make the promises to bring up their children in the Christian faith and in the life of the Church wherever they happen to live.

3. Baptism on personal confession of faith by older children and adults who have not previously been baptised as a baby.

Arranging a Baptism

Parents who contact us to ask for a baptism are often encouraged to come to the Early Bird Family Service on the First Sunday of each month at 10am, meet with us and then arrange a further conversation with the Minister.

All baptisms take place as part of the Sunday Services because the congregation share in the promises made by candidates, parents, God - parents and friends.

I would be happy for you to contact me on the phone or even send me an email.
